Before first use, fully charge the device using the provided USB Type-C cable. Connect the cable to the device's Type-C port and a standard USB power source (e.g., computer, wall adapter).

5.2. Attaching Protective Case

For added protection and grip, slide the included soft silicone protective case onto the device.

5.3. Ukufakela (Ukhetho)

The device includes a 1/4 inch nut holder hole, allowing it to be mounted on a compatible bracket for fixed measurements.

6.1. Umbane Vula/Vala

Cinezela kwaye ubambe iqhosha laMandla (Iqhosha leqhosha lamandla) to turn the device on or off. The device features a 10-minute automatic shutdown to conserve battery, but can also be manually shut down.

6.2. Selecting UV Band

Cofa i I-SEL button to cycle through the available UV bands: UVA, UVB, and for SK-8305A, UVC. The selected band will be indicated on the display.

  1. Point the transducer (UV sensor) directly at the UV source you wish to measure.
  2. Allow a few seconds for the reading to stabilize on the display.
  3. The device will show the UV intensity in the selected unit (μW/cm² or mW/cm²).

6.4. Switching Units

Cofa i IYUNITHI button to switch between μW/cm² and mW/cm² for UV intensity readings, or between °C and °F for temperature readings.

6.5. Ukubamba idatha

Cofa i BAMBA button to freeze the current measurement on the display. Press it again to release and resume live readings.

6.6. Data Recording (REC MODE)

Cofa i IMODE REC button to enter data recording mode. The device can store up to 999 strokes (measurements) with time stamps. Refer to the 'Data Management' section for retrieving recorded data.

6.7. Germicidal Lamp Testing (SK-8305A Only)

The SK-8305A model is specifically designed for testing 253.7nm UV germicidal lamps (low-pressure pump lamps).

  1. Turn on the UV radiometer and point its detector at the UV source of the germicidal lamp.
  2. Wait for the instrument to stabilize, then read and record the UV illuminance value.
  3. Take several measurements at different locations to get more accurate results.
  4. Compare the measured UV radiation illuminance value with the relevant standards to judge whether the UV radiation intensity of the germicidal lamp ufanelekile.
  5. If the test results do not symbolize the standard requirements, check the working condition of the germicidal lamp (e.g., damage, aging) and take appropriate measures to adjust or replace.

6.8. Product Use Cases

Examples of product use for UVA, UVB, and UVC measurements

The SNAKOL UV Radiometer supports USB communication for data transfer and analysis.

  • Connect the device to a computer using the provided USB Type-C cable.
  • The device can upload recorded data, including time stamps, to a computer for further analysis. Specific software may be required for advanced data analysis; please refer to the manufacturer's website for compatible software.
